Episode 011: How to integrate your shadow and become the best version of you with Alexander Cottle
This week we’re covering men’s healing and spirituality and I am overjoyed this week to share the incredibly rich conversation I had with men’s coach Alexander Cottle. We often overlook men’s needs when everything looks perfect on the outside, but as Alexander details, even in his own personal spiritual journey, it’s still possible to hit that soul-shaking rock bottom.
After coming out from the other side, Alexander was inspired to support other men who had found themselves disconnected from their bodies, trapped in toxic relationships, lacking self-respect and had a lot of childhood and parenting wounds to heal. Tune in to hear his story and how he now changes men’s lives completely.
Here’s what we discuss:
The first steps you can take after facing rock bottom (routines & structure are everything!)
The importance of honouring sovereign boundaries and surrounding yourself with people who genuinely love and support you
How society rewards the inflated shadow self: being controlling, showing manipulative behaviour to get to the top and being a workaholic and how to break free from those toxic traits
Alexander is a Men's Transformational Coach, NCS L3 qualified counsellor, Yoga Teacher, Meditation Teacher and founder of the ‘Unmasked Man’ - set up to encourage sharing, brotherhood and create a voice for men's mental health.
